My First Band Competition (Part 2)

The thing is, now that I think about it, I never got to the competition! We left home to go out there, but somehow I ended up with Grandma and Grandpa Connelly.

Oh wait, that's right, they have a cabin on the lake out that way, so after all that driving which was great because it gave me some really neat dreams, I stayed there instead of seeing the bands compete.

Probably just as well as it got a little chilly this evening and I'm not sure if I'm fond of cold weather just yet.....give me a few years on that.

Grandma Connelly is fun to be around, she lets me do stuff that mom and dad don't.....well maybe. Okay, I'll retract that statement for now or at least plead the 5th Amendment for the time being, I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea or anything.

I watched a little television and thought that doctor guy on House was pretty cool, but that other show called K'ville wasn't very good at all, so I decided to go to sleep.

Sometime around 11 mom and dad showed back up. They looked happy to see me which was great because I'm always happy to see them! But then they packed me back up in my car seat which I don't always like, but I suppose it's necessary.

We got back in the car and sometime later were back home. I slept the entire trip so I missed all the sights and now since it's even later, I think I'll head back to Dreamland to chase some more rabbits!

My first band competition (Part 1)

It was a beautiful Saturday weather-wise and mom & dad were planning a long day of adventures for me. Daddy started out by letting mommy sleep in Saturday morning, but then they packed me up and drove me to my first marching band practice.

The Showband Of The Carolinas (my favorite band of course!) was about to start their competition season Saturday at the Albemarle Showcase of Bands. So we went to help with that. I heard daddy saying something about maybe having me play the concert band drum in the pit......I'm ready daddy, I am, put me in....I can play!!!!

Okay, I might have some issues holding on to the bass drum mallet, so maybe next time.

Better yet, afterwards I got to meet a bunch of the band members which was really cool! They're all so big and they can really play their instruments, one day I hope to be just like them.

But what most people don't know was afterwards, I had to have my diaper changed, so mommy and daddy (with my "Uncle Dustin's" help) plopped me down next to the 45-yard line and changed me right there.

So, in about 15 years when I'm in the High School Band, we'll remember this moment fondly or embarrassingly, one of the two, I'm not sure which it'll be at this point.

The band got packed up and started out to Albemarle while I came back home for a quick bite to eat and some rest.

I'll let you know what happened in the evening in Part 2

A Proud Graduate at 4.5 Weeks!

At today's appointment with Lisa, our Lactation Consultant, I officially earned my GBF! Lisa and mommy were so proud of me...Lisa said I made her day. I weighed in at 7lbs 2 oz and the fat pads in my mouth (they help me with my sucking reflex) had finally arrived. This was a big step in my personal development.

Now that I'm a Graduate, mommy and I will not need to visit Lisa again for a whole month! Until then, I will need to keep up my good work and prove to them that I truly earned my GBF.

P.S. You'll need to figure out what GBF means on your own. :-)

My adventure to the grocery store...

So, today was my and mom's first outing to the local grocery store and boy was it interesting! Mom must have been nervous because she was shaking like a leaf and trying to hurry because my feeding time was quickly approaching. In fact, some other mommy was seemingly following us around the store, reassuring my mommy that she was doing a great job and to relax! This other mommy could not believe that we were even out of the house... she didn't leave her house until her son was 6 weeks old and that was her 4th child. My mommy must be extra brave. Good thing Grandma Connelly, Aunt Jessie and cousin Luke spent all of last week taking me and mommy out of the house to get us comfortable using my car seat in either my stroller or in a shopping cart.

But the fun did not end there... when we arrived home, it was really funny to watch mommy try to sooth me, get the groceries out of the car and into the house (without letting the cats out) and then getting the frozen items into the freezer before they thawed! I decided to go easy on mom and stayed quiet in my swing until she was done. I was super hungry, but mommy was trying franticly to juggle everything, so i went easy on her -- this time.

Schillaci Family Visit

This afternoon my Grandpa and Grandma Schillaci came by for a visit with 2 of their kids, Alicia and Megan. They hung out for while and cooed over me while I slept some more and did a little eating.

But they missed the fireworks! Just before they got here, I had to upchuck a good chunk of my lunch and boy did I surprise the heck out of my daddy with that. He had just changed me and put me in a new outfit too. Guess that'll teach him!

That's okay though, daddy's pretty happy this evening as the Indians clinched their division and are in the playoffs for the first time since 2001! Grandpa Schillaci told me he had already ordered me my very own Central Division Champions shirt - yay!

Did you know that since the day I was born the Indians have gone 22-7?

Family Outing to the Mall

On Saturday, daddy had no inspiration for dinner (which really doesn't bother me yet since my meals are pretty much the same thing for the time being), so him and mommy packed me up and took me out to the mall.

Car rides still make me sleepy, so I can't say much about the drive, but the mall is big and a little chilly! Mommy and daddy ate their dinner while I slept some more (almost caught the rabbits this time!).

After that we took a few laps around the mall and saw all the other strollers with little kids just like me, but almost all of those kids were much bigger than me. I wonder when I'll get to be their size???

This is my life

Elliott's 1st Doctor's appointment

Hello everyone! Since I'm still way too little to actually type out my own thoughts....at least coherently, I'm going to let my mommy and daddy make posts here for me. Mostly so all of you out there in the cyber hinterlands can keep current with all the great stuff that happens in my life!

Thanks for stopping by!
